Once you have purchased a package for Ashes of Creation and have access to the current Phase of testing, you will be able to download the Intrepid Installer to get started. After you have completed the initial installation, you will have the Intrepid Studios Launcher icon on your desktop.
- To get started, click Login and you will be prompted to sign in to your account.
- If you have forgotten your password or need to create an account, you can click on the appropriate buttons
- If you get an error that the realms are not currently available, please check the Alpha Two status on Discord to ensure that the realms are up
- Once you are signed in for the first time, the Launcher will prompt you for an install location
- Choose your desired location and click Install
- If you have already installed and there is a patch available, the Launcher will automatically start patching
- Known Issues - Link to the Ashes of Creation Alpha Two forums where you can find a list of the current known issues. Please make sure that you are checking the Known Issues before reporting any problems.
- Repair - This function will fix issues with the game data files. Repairing is useful if you are getting crashes related to corrupt data files, or if you get a specific error when patching that prompts you to run a repair. The Repair process will check the integrity of the game files and download any parts of files that do not pass that integrity check.
- Reinstall - This function will remove all game files and start a fresh download of the most recent version of the game. Reinstalling can be useful if you are having issues with crashing or unknown errors.

Uninstall - This function will remove all game files, leaving the Launcher untouched. Uninstalling is useful if you want to change the location of the game’s installation directory, or if you just want to uninstall the game without affecting the Launcher.
- After using the Uninstall function, click on Log Out and close the Launcher
- The Launcher and the game files can be uninstalled together from Windows Apps & Features.
- Log Out - This function will you log out of your account, returning you to the login screen
- Download - This bar shows the progress you have made in downloading the game files from the internet. Your download speed is displayed on the far right of the bar.
- File Operations - This bar shows the overall progress of writing the game files to your computer.
- Delta Merge - This bar shows the progress of individual game files being updated or written to your computer.
- Spinning Wheel - While the Launcher is in progress of downloading or writing game files, this wheel will be displayed in the center of the screen. Once the Launcher has completed its processes, the spinning wheel will disappear.
- Options - This is where you will find all of the options that you can change for the launcher.
- Launch Game - This button will highlight and be clickable when the game is installed, updated and ready to play.
Options - General
- Check this box to change the behavior of the X icon. Clicking X will not close game, instead the game will minimize to the System Tray.
- Check this box to automatically start the Intrepid Launcher when your computer boots up.
- Check this box to change the behavior of how the Intrepid Launcher starts. The Launcher will start minimized to the system tray instead of in a window.
- Clicking this button will clear your current login session. If you signed in and want to sign in with a different account, but are having issues with the Log Out option, click this button.
Options - Game
- Check this box to enable extra debugging for GPU crashes. Please note this will increase the size of your game log files. Only do this when directed by Intrepid staff.
- Check this box to create extra log files to troubleshoot crashing. Please note this will greatly increase the size of your game log files. Only do this when directed by Intrepid staff.
- Click this button to clear any video settings you have set in the game client. If you are having an issue with the game client displaying in a certain resolution, this can help.
Options - Patching

Use this slider to adjust how many CPU threads are used during patching.
- If patching is very slow, you can increase this setting
- If your PC is running hot while patching or you get errors while patching, decrease this setting
- To avoid issues, it is recommended that you do not change this unless directed by Intrepid staff
- If you leave the Launcher running, it will automatically update when there is a new game version available. Here you can set a window of time for the Launcher to check for and update the game client.
- While downloading the game files from the internet, the Launcher will download as fast as your internet connection allows. If you are having problems with other devices using the internet while you are installing/patching or your internet disconnects while you are installing/patching, you can set a limit to the amount of bandwidth the Launcher will use.
